Christening of Jamdani: ‘Jamdani’ The word has come from Persian language. 'Jama' means ‘CLOTHES’ at Perci and Dani means 'DAMASk' ,too. Though there has many disagreement in this perspective. Jamdani has many name and it is depend on their magnificent design. Such as Dublazar, Jalpad, Panna Hajar, Mayurpanchpad, Jabaful, Jhumka and so more. Many historian described about Jamdanee. Long ago, Jamdani mentioned at books of ‘Kowtillo’ (Ancient Indian Economists ) there Kowtilyo described that fine clothes was available at Pundra and Bango region.

The reputation visitor IBN BATUTA was visited there and he did praised about it. Dhaka is the birth place of Jamdani and it had spread from here to all over the world. That time, Jamdani had a great image and especially MUGHAL reign was ‘Golden period’ of Jamdani. But one time came that, Mugal Nawab and his employees were neglected to it. As per the their inappropriate and lack of reception to it then this situation role played to destroyJamdani gradually. On the other hand Jamdani was very cheapest that’s why pioneers always suffered a lot. It was regrettable circumstance of our Jamdani. But now?
After Emancipation: Thought Jamdani isn’t popular to many people still now and the makers of Jamadi suffered very financial problem. The government of Bangladesh has taken many steps to make it popular to the world and make sure pioneers is life free. That’s why after the emancipation government has given them financial support. Once a time, Jamdani was very popular to kings of the reigns but now we feel shy to wear it and overall say that we neglect our own beauty. We couldn’t able to understand that another modern clothes are not our own. Time has come now, We have to spread it newly.
What should we do? Initially, I think we have to buy it and sell it in our market. If we love our own products then at first we have to make highlight it with gorgeously. Already our, Sir Razib Ahmed(President of E-commerce association of Bangladesh) has taken perfect steps for highlighting it and already he has proved that our lost heritage will revive again. He not able to make it popular within overnight. So, we have give hands to with ,sir. And we optimistic that our Bangladeshi products again will able to gain popularity and make attention to the world.
